Seahawks' Freddie Swain: Makes first NFL reception
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Swain hauled in a 17-yard pass in Sunday's 38-25 win over the Falcons.

Swain made the final roster over Paul Richardson and 2019 seventh-round pick John Ursua, and he was immediately called upon with Phillip Dorsett (foot) sitting out. The Florida product played 16 of 62 snaps (26 percent) as the clear No. 4 receiver in Seattle. If Dorsett returns in Week 2 against the Patriots, Swain could be pushed out of the offensive gameplan.

Seahawks' Freddie Swain: Makes 53-man roster
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Swain secured a spot on the Seahawks' final roster, John Boyle of the team's official site reports.

Swain -- a sixth-round pick in April -- just turned 22 years old in August but has four years of collegiate football at Florida under his belt. In his final season, he recorded a 38-517-7 line as the second-fiddle to Van Jefferson, who the Rams drafted in the second round. He has minimal fantasy relevance this season, as Tyler Lockett and DK Metcalf should handle a bulk of the targets while Phillip Dorsett (foot) and potentially Josh Gordon (suspension) mix in.

Seahawks' Freddie Swain: Back in action
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Swain (groin) returned to practice Friday, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports.

Swain sustained a groin injury Monday and finally got back on the field. The rookie sixth-round pick had a solid collegiate career but is on the roster bubble, so he'll need to stay healthy to ensure he snags a roster spot in 2020.

Seahawks' Freddie Swain: Sustains minor injury
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Swain suffered a minor groin injury during Monday's practice, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports.

Fortunately for Swain, the injury appears to be more of a tweak of lesser severity than a long-term issue following an early diagnosis. The 2020 sixth-round pick is facing a tough battle for a roster spot heading into the regular season, so the earlier he can get healthy will help his chances to make the squad.

Seahawks' Freddie Swain: Heads to Seattle
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

The Seahawks selected Swain with in the sixth round of the 2020 NFL Draft, 214th overall.

Swain played a depth role during his four-year career at Florida, culminating in a 2019 campaign in which he notched 38 catches for 517 yards and a team-high seven touchdowns while mostly operating out of the slot. Given his proficient ball skills, Swain offers the Seahawks limited upside on special teams and as a depth receiver.
