Dolphins' Albert Wilson: Opting out
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Wilson announced Wednesday via his personal Twitter account that he will opt out of the 2020 season.

Wilson's decision to sit out the upcoming season comes one day after fellow wideout Allen Hurns informed the Dolphins he wouldn't play in 2020. The Dolphins are now left with a shaky group behind DeVante Parker at wide receiver, as Preston Williams is coming back from an ACL tear and nobody else among the group has ever caught more than 23 passes in a season. Isaiah Ford and Jakeem Grant should now be in the mix for a starting job, while the 28-year-old Wilson will look to rejoin the Dolphins next offseason.

Dolphins' Albert Wilson: Restructures deal
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Wilson agreed Tuesday with the Dolphins on a restructured contract for the 2020 season, Field Yates of ESPN reports.

Entering the final season of the three-year, $24 million deal he inked in March 2018, Wilson likely would have been a cap casualty had he not agreed to the restructure. Under the new terms of his deal, Wilson will earn a maximum of $4 million ($3 million in base salary and up to $1 million in incentives) in what amounts to a pay cut of $5.5 million. Wilson has largely disappointed during his time in Miami, but he at least finished the 2019 season on a high note by hauling in 17 of 23 targets for 197 yards between Weeks 15 and 17.

Dolphins' Albert Wilson: Could get No. 3 role again
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Wilson currently projects as Miami's No. 3 receiver, Armando Salguero of The Miami Herald reports.

Wilson could end up benefiting from an offseason that saw the Dolphins revamp their roster at nearly every position besides wide receiver and tight end. The team essentially is bringing back its same group of pass catchers from 2019, including Preston Williams coming back from the ACL tear he suffered in early November. Wilson struggled to regain his form after he suffered a severe hip injury in 2018, but he did show signs of life at the end of last season with 197 receiving yards over the final three weeks. Granted, his future with the Dolphins may depend on him accepting a pay cut, as he's scheduled for a non-guaranteed $9.48 million base salary in the final season of a three-year contract.

Dolphins' Albert Wilson: Future uncertain in Miami
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Wilson said Monday that he hopes to remain with the Dolphins in 2020, though his non-guaranteed $9.48 million base salary could make him a candidate to get cut, Cameron Wolfe of ESPN.com reports.

Wilson's 2019 debut was delayed while he worked back from a torn labrum and fractured hip suffered late in the prior season, but he was able to round into form and make an impact in the passing game down the stretch. Over the Dolphins' final four games, Wilson hauled in 18 of 25 targets for 202 yards, serving as a viable complement to No. 1 wideout Devante Parker. Given Wilson's willingness to return to Miami, it's possible he could be receptive to taking a pay cut if the Dolphins inform him they're not willing to retain him at his current rate.

Dolphins' Albert Wilson: Solid finish to season
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Wilson caught five of eight targets for 59 yards during Sunday's 27-24 divisional win over the Patriots.

Wilson concludes the 2019 campaign with 43 catches on 62 targets for 351 yards and one touchdown across 13 contests. He also carried the ball five times for 45 yards. The 27-year-old came into the year working his way back from a torn labrum and fractured hip, and setbacks in his recovery plus additional minor injuries marred his effectiveness for much of the season. He did close out the year with some momentum, exceeding 55 yards with at least five catches in each of the final three contests. He's under contract with the Dolphins through 2020 and should benefit from a healthy offseason.

Dolphins' Albert Wilson: Season-best effort in OT win
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Wilson secured all seven targets for 79 yards in the Dolphins' 38-35 overtime win against the Bengals on Sunday. He also rushed once for nine yards.

Wilson paced the Dolphins in receptions on the afternoon, a rare feat for the slot receiver, who hadn't logged more than five catches in nine of his previous 10 contests. Wilson has 12 receptions (15 targets) for 138 yards over the last two games combined, providing a glimpse of what might have been had he remained healthy all season and Miami enjoyed better quarterback play from start to finish. Wilson will look to put together another productive performance to close out the campaign against the Patriots in Week 17.

Dolphins' Albert Wilson: Practices without limitations
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Wilson (hip) was a full participant in Thursday's practice.

Wilson was limited in Wednesday's practice, so Thursday's full participation serves to shed any doubts about his Week 16 availability. The 27-year-old is set to serve as the No. 2 wideout in Miami's receiving corps, behind DeVante Parker, during Sunday's game against the Bengals.

Dolphins' Albert Wilson: Hip injury resurfaces
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Wilson was limited in Wednesday's practice due to a hip injury, Adam H. Beasley of the Miami Herald reports.

Wilson has been battling a lingering hip injury for much of the season, but there's not much reason to worry that he's in danger of missing Sunday's matchup with the Bengals. The shifty receiver logged his best game of the season in the Week 15 loss to the Giants, catching five of eight targets for 59 yards.

Dolphins' Albert Wilson: Finally tops 50 yards
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Wilson caught five of eight targets for 59 yards in Sunday's 36-20 loss to the Giants.

It's hard to trust any Dolphins player outside of DeVante Parker in fantasy. Parker had another two receiving scores, giving him eight this season to Wilson's one. Wilson set a new season high in receiving yards in this game, as he hadn't notched more than 33 in any previous 2019 contest.

Dolphins' Albert Wilson: Clears concussion protocol
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Wilson (concussion) will play Sunday against the Giants after clearing concussion protocol, Joe Schad of The Palm Beach Post reports.

Both Wilson and Devante Parker cleared concussion protocol Saturday, and as a result both wide receivers will suit up in an excellent matchup against the porous Giants secondary. Following the season-ending injury to Preston Williams (knee), Wilson was gradually beginning to get more involved in the offense, posting two consecutive games with at least five catches before leaving the Week 14 contest early. He should be a factor out of the slot Sunday.

Dolphins' Albert Wilson: Questionable for Week 15
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Wilson (concussion) is officially listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Giants, Omar Kelly of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports.

Wilson practiced in full Friday, according to Cameron Wolfe of ESPN.com, which represents progress after the wideout began the week with two consecutive limited sessions. The 27-year-old will still need to fully clear the concussion protocol, the final step of which includes meeting with an independent neurologist.

Dolphins' Albert Wilson: Limited again Thursday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Wilson (concussion) was limited in Thursday's practice, Cameron Wolfe of ESPN.com reports.

Wilson has now logged two consecutive limited practice sessions. He'll need to fully clear the league's protocol for head injuries, including meeting with an independent neurologist, before retaking the field. If Wilson were forced to miss any time, added targets would become available for fellow receivers Allen Hurns, Isaiah Ford, Mack Hollins and Trevor Davis.

Dolphins' Albert Wilson: Still in protocol
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Coach Brian Flores said Thursday that Wilson will stay in the league's concussion protocol "through the end of the week" at least, Safid Deen of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.

Wilson can't be considered a lock to clear the league's protocol for head injuries in time to suit up Sunday against the Giants, and the same holds true for top wideout DeVante Parker (concussion). Still, it's encouraging that both receivers have already resumed handling non-contact drills. In any case, Wilson has scored just once this season and has yet to exceed 33 receiving yards in a single contest, so he remains off the fantasy radar in all but the deepest of leagues.

Dolphins' Albert Wilson: Not taking contact
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Wilson (concussion) was participating in non-contact drills during Wednesday's practice, Hal Habib of The Palm Beach Post reports.

Wilson was removed early from Sunday's loss to the Jets with a head injury and was later placed in the NFL's concussion protocol. The wideout's inability to take contact in the Dolphins' first practice of Week 15 implies he's still in the initial stages of the five-step protocol, but he'll still have some time to gain clearance ahead of this weekend's game against the Giants. With DeVante Parker (concussion) also limited to non-contact work Wednesday, the Dolphins count Allen Hurns, Isaiah Ford, Mack Hollins and Trevor Davis as their only healthy receivers to begin the week.

Dolphins' Albert Wilson: Won't return Sunday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Wilson suffered a concussion during Sunday's contest against the Jets and is ruled out to return, Joe Schad of The Palm Beach Post reports.

Wilson joins No. 1 wideout DeVante Parker in the league's five-step protocol for head injuries Sunday. As a result, the Dolphins will be forced to proceed with a wide receiver corps consisting of only Allen Hurns, Mack Hollins and Isaiah Ford for the remainder of Week 14.

Dolphins' Albert Wilson: Evaluated for head injury
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Wilson is questionable to return to Sunday's divisional contest against the Jets while being evaluated for a concussion.

Wilson did not take the field to begin the second half of Sunday's matchup. He caught one of two targets for five yards before leaving the field. With DeVante Parker (concussion) already ruled out to retake the field, the Dolphins' only healthy wide receivers will be Allen Hurns, Mack Hollins and Isaiah Ford if Wilson is ultimately diagnosed with a concussion.

Dolphins' Albert Wilson: Splash plays help spur Week 13 win
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Wilson caught all five of his targets for 32 yards and ran for 31 yards on two rush attempts during Sunday's 37-31 win against Philadelphia.

Though Wilson's 6.4 yards-per-catch average doesn't exactly scream out "explosive," the 27-year-old made a couple plays in Week 13 that likely shifted the outcome of the game. His 28-yard scamper on Miami's fourth offensive drive helped set up his team's first score of the day, and his two third-down receptions spurred touchdowns on second- and fourth-quarter possessions for the Dolphins. Wilson now has six targets per game over his past three outings heading into a Week 14 matchup against the Jets' mediocre pass defense.

Dolphins' Albert Wilson: Ready for Week 13
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Wilson (hip/chest) practiced in full Friday, Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reports.

Wilson was forced out of the Week 12 loss to the Browns and appeared on the injury report with the dual issues this week, but his ability to take every rep Friday clears the way for him to suit up Sunday against the Eagles. As one of only four wide receivers on the Dolphins' 53-man roster, Wilson could see an uptick in his target count over the final five games of the season.

Dolphins' Albert Wilson: Limited Wednesday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Wilson (hip/chest) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice, Safid Deen of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.

Wilson exited Sunday's loss to the Browns due to what was initially believed to be a rib injury, but the Dolphins have since clarified the source of the wideout's discomfort. The fact that Wilson wasn't held out of Wednesday's practice entirely is a good sign for his early chances of suiting up Week 13 against the Eagles. The 27-year-old hasn't been a worthwhile fantasy option this season, having accumulated just 20 catches for 117 yards and one touchdown across eight contests. He'll at least have a better opportunity to garner more looks on offense moving forward after one of his main threats for playing time, Jakeem Grant (ankle), was placed on injured reserve Wednesday.

Dolphins' Albert Wilson: Present for Wednesday's practice
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Wilson (ribs) is working through drills at Wednesday's practice, Cameron Wolfe of ESPN.com reports.

Wilson was forced out of Sunday's loss to the Browns due to the injury, but his ability to return to the practice field in some fashion three days later implies that his rib issue is likely minor. The Dolphins will reveal later Wednesday whether Wilson was a limited or a full participant in the session. With Jakeem Grant (ankle) now on injured reserve, DeVante Parker, Allen Hurns and Isaiah Ford are the only healthy wide receivers on Miami's active roster.
