Falcons' Foyesade Oluokun: Out against Bears
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Oluokun (hamstring) has been listed among Atlanta's inactive players for Sunday's showdown with the Bears.

The 25-year-old linebacker made an incredible impact in the early going against Dallas last week, forcing three fumbles on 18 defensive snaps. Oluokun was forced to exit the game due to cramping, but limited practice sessions Thursday and Friday provided optimism that he may be able to play against Chicago. With this update on his status, the Falcons are left thin at linebacker, and will now have to rely on fourth-round rookie Mykal Walker in a more integral role.

Falcons' Foyesade Oluokun: Deemed questionable for Sunday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Oluokun (hamstring) is questionable for Sunday's game versus the Bears, Will McFadden of the Falcons' official site reports.

Oluokun logged limited practices Thursday and Friday, so he could miss the first game of his NFL career. The third-year pro exited early in Week 2 after logging 18 defensive snaps, six tackles and three forced fumbles, but he'll likely handle a full workload if he's healthy. If he's forced to sit out, however, expect LaRoy Reynolds to start at outside linebacker.

Falcons' Foyesade Oluokun: Out Wednesday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Oluokun (hamstring) did not participate during Wednesday's practice session, Kelsey Conway of the Falcons' official site reports.

The Yale product has been impactful in the early going of his third pro campaign, recording six tackles and an onside kick recovery in the season opener against Seattle, as well as six tackles and an incredible three forced fumbles (on 18 defensive snaps) against the Cowboys on Sunday. Oluokun dealt with cramps as Week 2 wore on and had to be removed from the contest, but coach Dan Quinn has since said that he doesn't expect the 25-year-old to be out for an extended time. A practice appearance Thursday or Friday would indicate he's trending toward being active for a Week 3 tilt against Chicago.

Falcons' Foyesade Oluokun: Shouldn't be out long
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Coach Dan Quinn doesn't believe Oluokun (undisclosed) has a long-term injury, Tori McElhaney of The Athletic reports.

Oluokun apparently left the game due to cramping, and the fact that Quinn reiterated that it wasn't serious is positive news. Wednesday's practice report will be more revealing, but Quinn is expected to provide another update before then.

Falcons' Foyesade Oluokun: Questionable to return
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Oluokun (cramping) is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Cowboys, Kelsey Conway of the Falcons' official site reports.

The third-year linebacker made an immediate impact in Week 2 by causing two first-quarter fumbles, including one on his former high school teammate, Ezekiel Elliott. Oluokun was seen loosening up on a stationary bike on the sideline late in the second quarter, but it remains to be seen if he will retake the field to begin the second half.

Falcons' Foyesade Oluokun: Contributes in multiple areas
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Oluokun collected six total tackles and an onside-kick recovery during Sunday's 38-25 loss to the Seahawks.

Oluokun and Younghoe Koo have a magical special-teams rapport working, as the two have collectively accounted for three onside-kick recoveries since Week 13 of last season. The third-year linebacker made his presence felt on the defensive side as well Sunday, collecting six-plus tackles for the second time over his past three regular-season appearances. Oluokun was pivotal in helping contain Seattle's potent rushing attack to just 84 rushing yards, and Week 2 presents another formidable opponent, as Atlanta travels to Dallas to take on Ezekiel Elliott and the Cowboys.

Falcons' Foyesade Oluokun: Back from COVID-19 list
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Oluokun was activated from the reserve/COVID-19 list Wednesday, Jason Butt of The Athletic reports.

The 2018 sixth-round pick has gained full clearance after spending just four days on the reserve/COVID-19 list. He's on track to start at outside linebacker for Atlanta when the 2020 season kicks off.

Falcons' Foyesade Oluokun: Lands on COVID-19 list
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Oluokun (illness) has been placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list, Vaughn McClure of reports.

The Falcons' starting outside linebacker certainly did not have a positive COVID-19 test -- or recent contact with someone who tested positive -- on his wish list, but unfortunately his 25th birthday has been saddled with disappointing news. Oluokun becomes the sixth Atlanta player to land on the reserve/COVID-19 list since in-person player screenings commenced Monday, and he joins Tyeler Davison as the team's two defensive starters to be sidelined thus far.

Falcons' Foyesade Oluokun: Slated to start in 2020
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Coach Dan Quinn stated that Oluokun is expected to take over as a starting outside linebacker for the Falcons this season, D. Orlando Ledbetter of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Given that De'Vondre Campbell signed with Arizona in March, Atlanta now finds itself in search of a new leading tackler. Third-year man Oluokun is up to the task, according to Quinn. Oluokun had a surprisingly productive rookie campaign after joining Atlanta as a sixth-round pick in 2018, making seven starts and ranking second on the team behind Campbell with 91 tackles. His role dropped off considerably in 2019, as he started just three times and played 50-plus percent of the defensive snaps on only two occasions. However, with Campbell now gone, Oluokon is expected to benefit from an uptick in opportunities.

Falcons' Foyesade Oluokun: Numbers diminish in 2019
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Oluokun accumulated 56 tackles, two tackles for loss and one forced fumble across 16 appearances for the Falcons this season.

The second-year linebacker out of Yale was afforded far less playing time in 2019 compared to 2018, as he never exceeded 55 percent of the defensive snaps in any game and only started three times after last year collecting seven starts as Deion Jones missed 10 weeks with a broken foot. Oluokun saw his tackles count decrease by 35 between 2018 and 2019, and he failed to produce a single QB hit after collecting two as a rookie. Though his defensive contributions waned somewhat, Oluokun played a key late-game role for the Falcons during Week 13, scooping up one onside kick and assisting in another onside recovery to keep Atlanta alive in an eventual 26-18 defeat to New Orleans.

Falcons' Foyesade Oluokun: Productive in limited activity
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Oluokun recorded six tackles (three solo) during Sunday's 24-12 win over the Jaguars.

Oluokun racked up a solid tackle count despite playing just 13 defensive snaps (21 percent), his lowest snap count since Week 8. The 24-year-old is set for his usual rotational role in Atlanta's linebacker corps during Week 17's season finale in Tampa Bay.

Falcons' Foyesade Oluokun: Good to go Sunday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Oluokun (shoulder) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game versus Jacksonville.

Oluokun never put in a full practice this week, but the shoulder issue won't end up impacting his status for this weekend. The 24-year-old will serve in his typical role as a rotational linebacker against the Jaguars.

Falcons' Foyesade Oluokun: Works in limited fashion
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Oluokun (shoulder) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice, D. Orlando Ledbetter of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Oluokun didn't return to Week 15's game against the 49ers after sustaining this injury, but it's a positive sign that he's on the practice field, albeit in a limited capacity, Wednesday. The Falcons only have three other healthy linebackers, so unless they sign another, they don't seem too concerned about Oluokun's status heading into Sunday's game against the Jaguars.

Falcons' Foyesade Oluokun: Sustains injury Sunday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Oluokun was forced out of Sunday's game against the 49ers with a shoulder injury, Kelsey Conway of the Falcons' official site reports.

Oluokun registered a career-high 11 tackles in Week 14's win over the Falcons, but he only notched one tackle before leaving this contest. With Oluokun on the sidelines, the Falcons only have two healthy linebackers, so they may need to deploy safeties Sharrod Neasman or Kemal Ishmael in Oluokun's role.

Falcons' Foyesade Oluokun: Amasses 11 tackles against Panthers
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Oluokun racked up six solo tackles and five assists during Sunday's 40-20 win against Carolina.

The second-year linebacker out of Yale has seen a drastic increase in his defensive snap count over the past month, and he has for the most part provided respectable returns for those participating in IDP formats. He only garnered more than 30 percent of the Falcons' defensive snaps once between Weeks 1 and 8, but over his four most-recent outings coming into Sunday he had commanded 35-plus percent of the defensive workload in each instance. Since Week 10 he has averaged 6.8 tackles per game, and Thanksgiving night against New Orleans he recovered or assisted in the recovery of two successful onside kicks. Oluokun projects to have plenty of tackling opportunities again in Week 15, with the Falcons taking on a 49ers offense that ranks No. 3 in the NFL in time of possession.

Falcons' Foyesade Oluokun: Crucial to two onside recoveries
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Oluokun tallied four solo tackles during Thursday's 26-18 loss to the Saints.

The second-year linebacker out of Yale not only finished fourth on his team in tackles, but he also played a key role in each of Atlanta's onside kick recoveries during a furious fourth-quarter rally. Oluokun recovered Younghoe Koo's first onside kick that was offset by a Russell Gage offside penalty, then recovered Koo's second attempt the ensuing play, and 90 seconds later deflected Koo's third onside kick attempt off of Michael Thomas and into the awaiting arms of teammate Kemal Ishmael. He has appeared in every game thus far this season with one start, 34 tackles and one tackle for loss heading into a Week 14 matchup against NFC South rival Carolina.

Falcons' Foyesade Oluokun: Notches seven tackles
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Oluokun registered six solo tackles and one assisted tackle during Sunday's 29-3 win against the Panthers.

After a slow start, Oluokun has 15 tackles over his last two games, giving him 30 on the season. The sophomore linebacker is still without a sack or takeaway in 26 career games, making Oluokun a risky play in fantasy most weeks.

Falcons' Foyesade Oluokun: Team's leading tackler in upset win
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Oluokun registered seven solo tackles and one assisted tackle during Sunday's 26-9 win against the Saints.

Oluokun hasn't produced like the fantasy revelation he seemed to be developing into as a rookie, when he came within three tackles of tying De'Vondre Campbell for the team lead despite only starting seven games. The second-year linebacker out of Yale appeared to benefit from Atlanta's change in defensive play callers over the bye, registering his first start of 2019 and exceeding his previous season high in tackles by four. Week 11 presents an opportunity for Oluokun to potentially generate his first takeaway of the year, with Atlanta's defense facing Panthers quarterback Kyle Allen and his five lost fumbles (third worst in the NFL).

Falcons' Foyesade Oluokun: Good to go
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Oloukun (oblique) is absent from Atlanta's injury report Wednesday, William McFadden of the team's official site reports.

Oloukun appears on track to suit up unrestricted Week 1 and should play a starting role in Atlanta's defense. The 2018 sixth-round pick missed much of the preseason due to an oblique strain, but he managed to suit up for the Falcons' final exhibition game against the Jaguars. Oloukun projects to be one of the focal contributors in Atlanta's 4-3 defense this season.

Falcons' Foyesade Oluokun: Returns after three-week hiatus
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Oluokun collected one tackle during Thursday's 31-12 preseason win against the Jaguars.

Oluokun returned from an oblique injury that had held him out of game action since Aug. 1, providing Atlanta with assurance that one of its central contributors to the front seven is back in the mix prior to Week 1. The former Yale Bulldog came in with tempered expectations as a sixth-round draft choice coming out of the Ivy League, but he proved to be the real deal as the season wore on in 2018. Oluokun started six of Atlanta's final eight games and finished three tackles behind De'Vondre Campbell for the team lead with 91.
