Elder saw reps both in the slot and outside Thursday, Joseph Person of The Charlotte Observer reports.
Elder looks the part of a slot corner, standing at 5-foot-10 and weighing in at 185 pounds, but he's looking to show he can be more versatile than that. A fifth-round pick in last year's draft, Elder will be looking to show he can be a plug-and-play corner for Carolina in order to hang on to a depth role in the team's secondary.
Corn (knee) has participated in offseason workouts this spring but is still regaining full strength in his right knee, Tom Sorenson of the Charlotte Observer reports.
Elder is bouncing back from a stress fracture in his patella, which required surgery in October and forced the cornerback to spend his entire rookie season on injured reserve. When healthy, the 2017 fifth-rounder is expected to compete for the top nickelback job in Carolina.
Elder saw his rookie year end before it started, being placed on season ending injured reserve with a patella stress fracture ahead of Week 1. The fifth-round pick in 2017 faced stiff competition for any significant role on the defense prior to his injury. Now that he'll be back and healthy entering offseason team activities he'll have a chance to earn a roster spot and as much as a backup secondary role on the defense.
