Redskins' Landon Collins: Leads team in tackles
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Collins had nine tackles (five solo) in Sunday's 24-9 loss to the Bills.

Minus a four-tackle performance against the 49ers in Week 7, Collins has been a dependable IDP contributor in 2019 with at least seven tackles in each contest. The 25-year-old ranks fourth in the NFL with 78 tackles (52 solo), and he also has one sack and one forced fumble this season.

Redskins' Landon Collins: Reaches double-digit tackles
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Collins had 11 tackles (six solo) in Thursday's 19-9 loss to the Vikings.

It's the third time this season Collins has recorded double-digit tackles as he continues to lead the team in the category. The 25-year-old has 70 tackles (47 solo), one sack and one forced fumble at the midway point of the season.

Redskins' Landon Collins: Forces fumble in win
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Collins finished with 12 tackles, including a sack, and also forced a fumble in Washington's 17-16 win over the Dolphins on Sunday.

Collins has been an effective tackler through six weeks (55 stops) but has yet to record an interception. Meanwhile, Collins' sack in Sunday's win was his first of 2019 and just the fifth sack of the 25-year-old safety's career.

Redskins' Landon Collins: Posts nine tackles
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Collins made nine tackles (two solo) in Sunday's 24-3 loss to the Giants.

Collins is averaging nine tackles per game so far, and he has yet to leave the field. The 25-year-old safety will continue shouldering plenty of responsibility in the Redskins' secondary, and he's on pace for a fourth 100-tackle output in five years.

Redskins' Landon Collins: Leads team in tackles
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Collins recorded 12 tackles (nine solo) in Sunday's loss to the Cowboys.

Collins was flying all over the field on Sunday, as he led the team in tackles. He also played every defensive snap in the contest. Collins has plenty of experience against the Cowboys, given his previous tenure with the Giants. He'll now face a somewhat more unknown opponent when the Bears come to town on Monday night.

Redskins' Landon Collins: Practicing in full
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Collins (shoulder) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice, JP Finlay of NBC Sports Washington reports.

Collins has received medical clearance to participate in team drills after starting OTAs as a limited participant. With the torn labrum that prevented him from playing in January's Pro Bowl behind him, Collins can take advantage of the extra practice reps he otherwise wouldn't be getting if he were still in recovery mode.

Redskins' Landon Collins: Present but limited at OTAs
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Collins (shoulder) is present at OTAs but is not going through full team drills, JP Finlay of NBC Sports Washington reports.

One of Washington's biggest offseason acquisitions, Collins is still working his way back from a torn labrum in his left shoulder. Although he's just doing side work at OTAs, head coach Jay Gruden said Monday that he expects Collins to be ready for training camp, Tarik El-Bashir of The Athletic reports.

Giants' Landon Collins: Moves to division rival
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Collins has inked a six-year, $84 million deal with Washington, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Collins' market-setting contract will reportedly include $45 million guaranteed, to be paid out over the first three years of his new deal. The 25-year-old safety is coming off a 2018 season in which he logged 96 tackles in 12 games for the Giants. As long as Collins stays healthy, the 2015 second-rounder should remain a quality IDP in his new locale.

Giants' Landon Collins: Won't be tagged
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

The Giants have informed Collins (shoulder) he won't receive a franchise tag, Jordan Raanan of reports.

The team technically can still sign Collins to a long-term contract, but this decision suggests he's as good as gone, making him one of the top players available in free agency when the new league year begins March 13. Collins should make a full recovery from Dec. 11 labrum surgery before the start of training camp.

Giants' Landon Collins: Unlikely to be tagged
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

The Giants likely won't use the franchise tag on Collins (shoulder), Ian Rapoport and Kimberley Jones of NFL Network report.

The Giants have approximately $27 million in cap space to work with this offseason, but it appears the front office isn't willing to devote the amount needed ($11.15 million) by placing the aforementioned tag on the safety. Such a decision will be made by 4 p.m. ET on Tuesday, at which point Collins will be available when free agency kicks off March 13. In four pro campaigns, he's averaged 7.4 tackles per game, which prorates to 119 across a 16-game slate.

Giants' Landon Collins: May get tagged
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Collins (shoulder) is a strong candidate for the franchise tag,'s Jordan Raanan reports.

Collins had surgery Dec. 11 to repair a torn labrum, missing the final four weeks of the regular season and then sitting out the Pro Bowl. He did mention in late December that he'd be fine with playing under the franchise tag, which is expected to cost approximately $11 million for safeties. The 25-year-old has started his career averaging at least 6.9 tackles per game in each of his first four seasons, but he didn't do much else on the stat sheet in 2018. He did have 125 tackles, five INTS and four sacks during his breakout 2016 campaign, finishing third in DPOY voting behind Khalil Mack and Von Miller. The Giants presumably will discuss a long-term deal with Collins, but it won't come as any surprise if they're hesitant to pay top dollar for a safety without first-rate coverage skills.

Giants' Landon Collins: Skipping Pro Bowl
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Collins (shoulder) won't play in the Jan. 27 Pro Bowl, Mark Inabinett of reports.

Collins is presumably still on the mend from December shoulder surgery to repair a torn labrum in his left arm. His spot will be filled by Eagles safety Malcolm Jenkins.

Giants' Landon Collins: Would play under franchise tag
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Collins (shoulder) said Tuesday he would be willing to play under the franchise tag if necessary, Jordan Raanan of reports.

Collins missed the final four games of the season after undergoing shoulder surgery and is set to hit free agency in 2019, though the Giants could retain his rights with the franchise tag. The 2015 second-round pick also expressed a desire to remain in New York and is hopeful for an extension, but he didn't give any indication he would consider a holdout if tagged. The 25-year-old would likely be fairly sought after if allowed to reach the open market.

Giants' Landon Collins: Undergoes successful surgery
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Collins (shoulder) underwent surgery Tuesday, and it went off without a hitch.

Collins will miss the remainder of 2018 because of the shoulder injury, but there's nothing to suggest he won't be ready by the time the 2019 campaign begins firing up. The fourth-year safety could hit free agency this offseason, if he doesn't reach a contract extension with the Giants before then, and would likely be a valued commodity on the open market.

Giants' Landon Collins: Getting season-ending surgery
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Collins (shoulder) is scheduled to undergo surgery in the near future to address a labrum issue and will be placed on injured reserve, Ralph Vacchiano of SportsNet New York reports.

There was some thought of Collins playing through the injury, but it wouldn't make much sense in a contract season with his team out of the playoff hunt. The 2015 second-round pick doesn't have any sacks or interceptions this season, but he's tied for 11th in the NFL with 96 tackles, placing him just one behind Arizona's Antoine Bethea for the league lead among defensive backs. Collins will be one of the top names on the market if the Giants don't re-sign him before free agency opens in March. In the meantime, Michael Thomas will likely take over as the starting strong safety.

Giants' Landon Collins: Headed for IR
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

The Giants have ruled Collins (shoulder) out for their Week 14 game in Washington and are expected to place him on injured reserve, Josina Anderson of ESPN reports.

New York has yet to make the transaction official and may not until having more time to evaluate Collins' left shoulder injury, but coach Pat Shurmur acknowledged earlier Wednesday that the safety will likely require surgery. In order to preserve his health heading into free agency, Collins isn't expected to play through the injury as the Giants wind down the regular season and will likely undergo the procedure next week. Michael Thomas and Sean Chandler should be in line for increased roles at strong safety over the final quarter of the campaign while Collins is on the shelf.

Giants' Landon Collins: Likely needs surgery
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Coach Pat Shurmur acknowledged Wednesday that Collins will "most likely" require surgery to address his left shoulder injury, Jordan Raanan of reports.

Shurmur noted that an official decision on surgery won't be made for a couple of days, as there's a chance Collins could continue to play through the shoulder issue at some point over the Giants' final four games. It seems more likely than not that Collins will err on the side of caution and go under the knife with free agency -- and a lucrative payday -- looming in March. If Collins is in fact shut down for the rest of 2018, Michael Thomas and Sean Chandler would receive increased snaps alongside the Giants' other starting safety, Curtis Riley.

Giants' Landon Collins: Considering season-ending surgery
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Collins (shoulder) is considering season-ending surgery to correct the shoulder injury he sustained during last Sunday's victory over Chicago, SNY's Ralph Vacchiano reports.

Collins recently underwent X-rays on his left shoulder, and the scans reportedly came back clean. While Collins isn't expected to play in this weekend's game against the Redskins anyway, fantasy owners may need to have a long-term contingency plan in place in case Collins chooses to go under the knife in the near future. The fourth-year pro is slated to become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the league year.

Giants' Landon Collins: Expected to miss Week 14 game
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Collins (shoulder) is expected to miss Sunday's game against Washington, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

We'll look for official confirmation of Collins' Week 14 status in the coming days, but those who normally rely on the safety in IDP formats are advised to line up a replacement.

Giants' Landon Collins: Dealing with shoulder injury
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Collins had X-rays on his left shoulder Sunday but the results came back negative, Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News reports.

Collins exited Sunday's win over the Bears after sustaining the injury, but was able to return and remain in the game. The 25-year-old had played every defensive snap of the season entering Sunday's game -- and although that streak is now broken -- he appears to have avoided a serious injury.
